Ok, we’re all at home right now trying to think of things to do to keep ourselves occupied and fill a day’s schedule. If you’re anything like me you’ll probably have been doing that in pyjamas, gym clothes or loungewear. Now, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that and lets be fair, this is the time for us to relax and not take the days for granted, but have you found yourself leaning towards online shopping… and updating an already full wardrobe? I bet you have!
We might not be able to wear new clothes anywhere nice (for now) but we can at least try to look good sometimes at home too. You might have a zoom call with your friends & family and want to look the part, or you might just want to buy new clothes and dress up for the sake of your sanity and why not? if it makes you feel good, do it!
Well I was kindly asked to try some of Burton Menswear superb spring/summer collection and I’d like to talk you through a couple of smart-casual summer looks I put together and then put on hold for the day’s we can socialise on city rooftops with a DJ, sunshine, friends and a glass (or two) of Aperol!! – So here goes;
First up and my new favourite colour is this grey/green crew neck t-shirt. It’s s so fresh and crisp I blooming love it!
I loved the tone of the t-shirt and wanted to max it with a smart-casual calm looking outfit. So I got out some stone coloured chinos rolled up slightly at the ankle, tucked in the shirt (because it looks much smarter) added some accessories and paired all of this with some stone/beige coloured trainers. These trainers are also from Burton Menswear new range.

Next up was is the White, Blue And Navy Vertical Stripe T-Shirt:
For this smart-casual summer look I wanted to stick the colours of the shirt and built the outfit up around that. So I took some cropped and fitted smart navy chino’s again with the shirt tucked in and some simple all white trainers to give the look a bit more of a casual theme. I then added a pop of colour with a gold watch and necklace to finish off the look. It’s fresh, summery and comfortable.
On to my third and final look. I’m a sucker for a polo shirt and I already own the white version of this top so when I saw the new colour I had to go for it! The Short sleeve toffee brown rib polo shirt with sporty white tipping finished off with a zip neck and it fits so well!
Again, sticking with the top, chino’s and trainer look. I styled this top with some grey fitted jogger style chinos that are cropped at the ankle to give a more summer look. I matched these with the Burton beige trainers and added a brown leather watch to match the top. Finished! A really quick and simple look that is smart and casual and very comfortable. It’s perfect for summer ( Fingers crossed I get to wear them!) but for now, I’ll just strut around the house in them.
